Biographical Foo
Ena grew up in a family that shelled out siblings worse than some cat in an alley. By the time her mother turned the ripe old age of fifty, she had ten brothers and sisters. Growing up on a farm in Libris, there was always something to do. Chores were the daily life and when not doing chores, they were going to school, or going to work. Hand-me-downs were normal. Her parents Meredith and Saul weren't rich, and most everything was grown to eat. Rarely did they buy and food from the stores. Her mother made clothing for the family and what she couldn't make, she usually found at some thrifty market. Ena began a life of hard work and kept to herself, she was the quietest child the couple had. She preferred studying and sometimes attending prayer at the temple.
When she graduated from high school, her mother finally let the children know that they needed to either marry or find some place in the militiary. It was like the parents had raised them and were now ready to clean out the nest. For some reason, that didn't come to any shock to most of them. As the siblings grew up, they moved off somewhere and even Ena doubted she'd have too much contact with them. As for herself, she chose the navy, never really having any prospects of marriage. It was Eeny Beenie, the egghead all through school.
One month, her paperwork was messed up and she was suddenly shipped off from Picon to a battlestar. Even though she tried to protest, they just reset the paperwork and sent her anyway. A battlestar. In space. Hopefully she wouldn't spew all over the officers shoes. So now, she was tucked in General Distribution. A supply closet and she could pretend she was back on a planet and not floating out in space.
