Genesis CIC Genesis - Deck 11
89 ACH 23817 Souls

The Combat Information Center is the tactical heart of the Genesis. This CIC is designed in a triangular formation, with one point pointing directly forward, while the other two point port and starboard. The forward point of the CIC triangle is where the tactical consoles are set up. Dead center, a large, clear display panel is suspended from the ceiling, green gridlines showing a map of nearby space. Under this, a large table is set, providing more tactical displays, a wireless handset, and a large, DRADIS console.
Both port and starboard other watch stations are set, in two rows of tiers like stadium seating, one above the other. Each station has a purpose - helm, weapons control, communications, navigation, damage control, and further tactical monitoring. More displays and banks of computer monitors line the walls.

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "CIC, Wrongway. Requesting permission to launch from launch tube seven."

[Tac1] "Gen-CIC" Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. Permission Granted. Flying CAP today CAG?"

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Shaking the rust off of my skids. Thought I'd give the CAP something to chase."

[Tac1] "Gen-CIC" Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. Copy that. Clear to launch."

The young tactical officer just sighs as he continues to work through inventory and supply papers, as well as reports from ships in the fleet and whatnot. Just another normal night at CIC.

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Launching… Clear of the tube. Proceeding karom three three zero five."

Another normal night, and a nice and slow one for Drusus back on comms. He smiles subtly at the chatter on TAC1 as he confirms the ciphers on the comms coming through, leaning toward the mic with a grin.

[Tac1] "CIC-TAC" Drusus says, "Wrongway, Genesis, wake 'em up out there, h'm?"

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Kicking in the burn… Gonna buzz them and see what they do."

Zephyr turns his head towards the systems security station. He shakes his head with a smile at Drusus. "Seems like you've woken up too, Mister Cato" Zephyr grins, "How's the ciphers and comm-encryptions looking?" he asks. Might as well do a little diagnostic.

Drusus grins at Zephyr, "Don't worry, the CAP can't hear her," he winks. "Everything's coming in green. Haven't had a problem all night." Either that or there HAS been a problem and he has to wait and tell the Commander about it.

[Tac1] "Genesis TO" Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. Have fun. Keep an eye out though."

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "They sure didn't like that… heh. Looks like I have company on my six. Pretty good response time."

"Alright, keep us posted" says the young Lieutenant. Zephyr just turns back to his station when the comm from Rue comes in and a smile touches the corners of his mouth.

[Tac1] "Genesis TO" Zephyr says, "Copy CAG. We can hear them."

Various derivations of 'What-the-FRAK-was-that?' and 'FRAK-me' sound through CIC over a separate channel currently set for the CAPs.

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "They seem to have some trouble keeping up."

[Tac1] "Genesis TO" Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. CAG, We're patching them through to this frequency. Please hold."

Drusus chuckles, keeping his eyes on his console. Green, green, green.

You say, "Cato, patch the CAP frequency into this one will you?"

[Tac1] "CIC-TAC" Drusus says, "Wrongway, Genesis, sounds like you forgot the lube out there. Frequency is… patched. CAP, Genesis— don't you even make her buy you dinner first?"

[Tac1] The voice of a semi-frantic female nugget crackles in, "-rak. My starboard engine is gone. Losing thrust. CAP leader please advise-"

[Wrongway_101: Rue] Out in the void of space, Wrongway's Viper rockets under and around one of the freighters in the fleet, two Vipers and a Raptor in pursuit. Until they emerge from under the freighter and said viper they were chasing is nowhere in sight. In fact, the bird is tucked up snugly against the freighter in a shadowy spot.

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "CAP leader, Wrongway. Good response time, but the chase scene could use some work."

[Tac1] "Wasted" Wallsy says, "Wrongway, Wasted. Sorry CAG. The nuggets engine is gone. Requesting permission to return to the barn…"

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Permission granted. I'll take up the CAP."

[Tac1] "Genesis TO" Zephyr says, "All birds, Genesis. CAG, two birds in the tube. Launching for CAP. Wasted, Genesis. Get yourselves back home, Landing is authorized. Deck has been notified. Over."

[Tac1] "Wasted" Wallsy says, "Genesis, Wasted. Copy. Returning to the barn."
I can't tell what channel you mean!

[Tac1] The now timid voice of the female-nugget barely whispers, "Sorry CAG. Sorry Genesis…"

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "It's alright. You did good. If I'd have been a Raider, I'd have been toast."

[Wrongway_101: Rue] Like some sort of creature of the night, Wrongway's viper unfurls from the side of the Freighter and moves to intercept and join the standard CAP formation with those new birds from the Genesis.

[Tac1] "Wasted" Wallsy says, "Genesis, Wasted. In the barn. Thanks. Wasted Out."

"Poor nugget…" Zephyr says quietly as he continues monitoring the status of the birds out there. "…I wonder if she'll be alright. That sounded like her first CAP run"

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "CIC, Wrongway, is Deck Chief Taylor on duty this shift?"

[Tac1] "Genesis TO" Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. If he is, we can't get to him. He's probably already working on your damaged bird Sir."

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "The man works fast."

[Tac1] "Genesis TO" Zephyr says, "I'd say that's why he's the Deck Chief sir. Wrongway, CIC. DRADIS has you in formation with the CAP sir. We've got you bearing 223, carom 151. Please confirm."

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Confirmed. Settling in. Thanks for the prank help, CIC."

[Tac1] "Genesis TO" Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. Anything to keep our birds alert CAG. Have a good run. Over and out."

As the young Lieutenant calls off comms, he lets out a soft sigh and leans against his console for a moment. "I can't imagine what her pilots must feel like" he chuckles softly under his breath.
