Genesis CIC Genesis - Deck 11
87 ACH 23817 Souls
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Combat Information Center is the tactical heart of the Genesis. This CIC is designed in a triangular formation, with one point pointing directly forward, while the other two point port and starboard. The forward point of the CIC triangle is where the tactical consoles are set up. Dead center, a large, clear display panel is suspended from the ceiling, green gridlines showing a map of nearby space. Under this, a large table is set, providing more tactical displays, a wireless handset, and a large, DRADIS console.
Both port and starboard other watch stations are set, in two rows of tiers like stadium seating, one above the other. Each station has a purpose - helm, weapons control, communications, navigation, damage control, and further tactical monitoring. More displays and banks of computer monitors line the walls.

~ Zephyr has just walked in when… ~

[Wrongway_101: Rue] Wrongway's viper lets off a few rounds from each cannon, fired straight up and away from the fleet, then starts a yaw slide, rotating her craft so that it's oriented with it's nose pointing down into the plane the fleet is on.

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Testing cannons. *gunfire sounds* Cannons operating at 100 percent."

[Tac1] Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. Copy. Try not to hit anyone. Except toasters, if they drop in on us."

[Tac1] "Hera Actual" Reed says, "Wrongway, Hera Actual. Who's on your wing, Major?"

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "CIC, not planning on it. I just wanted to give the cannons a test fire. It's been a few weeks since this bird has been out of the barn. Everything looks green. Hera Actual, Wrongway, there's no one on my wing. CAG's discretion."

[Tac1] "Hera Actual" Reed says, "Wrongway, Hera. Don't tell the kids, they'll try this themselves, then you'll have to kick them."

[Tac1] Zephyr says, "Wrongway, CIC. Understood. Hera Actual, CIC. Confirming CAG's discretion on solo flight. We also have three CAPs out accompanied by raptors. CAG can confirm that."

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Confirmed. And if it'll put your heart at ease, Major, I'll head back into the barn. I've stretched my legs, so to speak. Breath of fresh air, yadda yadda yadda."

[Wrongway_101: Rue] The lone viper's engines kick in and it shoots along the DRADIS at a good pace, aiming for Genesis. On the way down to the Battlestar, it corkscrews, barrel rolls and then does an end over end flip, ending with the ship oriented for a landing in the port side hangar bay.

[Tac1] "Hera Actual" Reed says, "Genesis, Hera. Confirmed CAP. Understood, Discretionary flight. We're waiting for the Raptor sweeps to return before heading out again. Wrongway, Hera. Hope you enjoyed your walk."

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Hera Actual, confirmed. The walk has been enjoyed. Immensely. Now all I need is a cigarette and a f— Some icecream."

[Tac1] "Gen-CIC" Zephyr says, "Wrongway, Genesis. Welcome home. Papers to sign have been delivered to your quarters. Hera, Genesis. Understood. We hope you find the Destiny soon sir."

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "You really know how to welcome a girl home, CIC."

[Tac1] "Hera Actual" Reed says, "Copy, Wrongway. We'll try to find some F-Icecream for you. Genesis, Hera, Copy That"

[Wrongway_101: Rue] The viper orients itself right-side up and slowly eases itself forward into the barn, the slow landing a contrast to the hotshot maneuvers being tossed about moments before.

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue 's response is laughter.

Lost DRADIS Contact: Wrongway_101 heads for Battlestar Genesis.

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Wrongway, calling the ball. … Skids down."

[Tac1] A different voice sounds over the comms. "Copy Wrongway, Lieutenant Zephyr is taking the papers to your office now. CIC Out"

[Tac1] "Wrongway" Rue says, "Aye aye."

~ Moments later… ~

You knock on the door to CAG's Quarters.

From CAGs Quarters:
A voice inside calls, "Come in."

To CAGs Quarters:
The hatch opens from the outside as a young officer steps through.

You head towards CAGs Quarters.

Rue is in the middle of shrugging out of her flight suit. Her collar is sitting on her desk/table. The top half of her suit is zippered down to her mid-section and she's got a bottled drink in hand. She eyes Zephyr, giving him a nod, then asks, "So, am I going to hate this paperwork or love it?"

Zephyr closes the hatch behind him and looks to Rue. And smiles. In one hand, is the clipboard of papers. In the other however, is a cup of what looks to be ice-cream. "I wasn't sure sir, so I thought I'd take the liberty of getting that…ice-cream you wanted. Vanilla alright?" he asks, as he steps further into the room.

"My CAG senses are tingling. Smells like a trap," Rue says, settling down into the chair at her desk, then motioning for the man to take a seat in one on the other side. "Vanilla ice cream can't hurt, though. What can I do for you, Lieutenant?"

The young officer chuckles as he places the ice-cream on her desk, and unclips a manila-folder of papers, placing it too, next to the ice-cream. "No trap Major. Just papers. Unless you consider papers a trap" he grins. Even still half-in her flightsuit the CAG is a looker alright.

Narrowing her blue eyes at the man for a brief second, Rue then nods and offers a smile, "I appreciate the ice cream. You could say I've had a bad week, so, it's comforting." She clears her throat and goes rummaging about for her pen, flicking the tip and then holding it at the ready. "Just the same old same old?"

Zephyr nods as he sits himself on the edge of one of the seats. "Aye sir. Also an updated list of all our resources in terms of birds and pilots, and ECOs of course. I tried to account for the vipers and raptors currently assigned to Hera for the SAL/R Major Carter is running" he says simply.

"Ah, yes. That." Rue's tone is dry. "I wish him luck. There's several of my people out there, but the odds are against him finding them." She goes through the papers, skimming and then signing, one by one. "How've you been holding up?"

"Yes well. I think with the amount of military personnel on Destiny…I hope they work out what went wrong. Two of CIC's best are on that ship too. Cato and Dike…" Zephyr sighs.

It's only with Rue's question that a slight change occurs in the young Lieutenant's expression. The bags under his eyes become a little more noticeable as do some other tell-tale signs of weariness. "Condition Two is well, Condition Two…" he manages to chuckle.

"I guess I lucked out with two days on my back in Sickbay." The blonde smiles across the table, signing another document or two. Rue adds, "Thank you. For not making a big deal about me going out there by myself… I needed something steadying. Flying always makes me feel better."

Zephyr's eyebrows arch. "I'm sorry Major, I didn't hear…" he starts, "And you're the CAG anyway, I honestly would've only sent out 2 CAPs and raptors. I just assumed the third was to compensate your quick solo flight." He chuckles as he goes on, "I mean, I can't bear to stay away from CIC for too long, so I guess I can understand how pilots feel when they talk about flying being their special place."

"I know. But I don't like to abuse my position for personal comfort." Lips twisting away from a smile into a sort of grimace, Rue rolls her shoulders and signs a final paper. The pen is set down and the papers picked up and shuffled into uniformity. "There we go. Make sure you put in for some solid rack time, Lieutenant. You look like crap." The smile returns, muted.

[Intercom] Attention! Set Condition Three throughout the fleet.

Zephyr shakes his head with a soft chuckle. "I'll make sure I get it when we're back down to Condition Thr — Heh" he nods, as he takes the papers and clips them back to his clipboard. "Anything else I can do for you Major?"

"No." Rue's grin turns ironic at the Condition change and just shakes her head. "Get some rest. I know I'm not your direct superior, but I can have him on the line quicker'n you think." She sketches a salute, then pushes up and starts looking about for a clean spoon.

Zephyr can't help but let a short laugh escape his lips. "I'm afraid there's no rest just yet Major. There's only one thing that could drop Alert Status. And that one thing means I'm going to have a lot more papers and read-outs to go through." he grins. "But thank you for your concern. And here…" he says, holding out a spoon, the spoon he forgot to put into the ice-cream.

"You're a godsend," Rue chirps, snagging the spoon from the man's hand. "Let me know if I can return the favor." She indicates the ice cream with a pointing of the newly acquired spoon. "Most of my connections tend to revolve around booze, but…"

"Shall I bring you more papers to sign Major?" Zephyr grins mischeviously as he semi-stands to attention in salute. "Oh!" he breaths, "One of the ladies working the galley gave me these when I mentioned the ice-cream was for you!"

The young lieutenant reaches into his pockets and pulls out a small paper-bag. He walks back over towards Rue, opens the small paper-bag, and empties its contents over her icecream. Chocolate-chips. "She mentioned you'd probably like them…" he winks.

"Bucking for promotion, huh?" Rue's eyes do light up at the chocolate chips. "You can bring me paperwork any time you want. Seriously, you're my hero." She finishes a chip out and savors it, eyes nearly rolling back in her head. "Lords of Kobol… I'd almost forgotten."

Zephyr tries hard to stifle a grin. Rue might as well be having an orgasm from the expression on her face. It's actually a little bit of a turn on for the young Lieutenant. "So the galley-lady was right…" he snickers.

"Don't believe -everything- you hear," Rue says in mock consternation. "You'd better get off to that paperwork. I'm going to have to eat my ice cream enroute to the Hangar… I'm guessing my lost pilots are on their way back to the roost." She shooes the man towards the door, albeit playfully.

"Aye sir" comes the chuckling reply as Zephyr opens the hatch. "After you Major" he says, motioning towards the corridor.

Rue snags the cup of ice cream and slings her way towards the door, nevermind her flightsuit down about her waist.

Rue leaves for Corridor 11E [O].

As Zephyr follows behind Rue, he closes the hatch to her Quarters, though his eyes are gazing somewhere else, somewhere just below her half-takenoff flight-suit.

Rue isn't so much talking as she heads on down the corridor. More, she's making little cooing sounds as she devours the ice cream. Mmmm.

Regas comes in from Corridor 11A.
Regas has arrived.

Zephyr just shakes his head in silence as the little cooing sounds from Rue continue as they walk back to the central corridor. He manages to pry his eyes off the CAGs shapely backside, and glances down at his ever-faithful clipboard.

Rue is walking down the corridor, Zephyr not too far behind, with a cup of ice cream in her hands. Vanilla with chocolate chips. She's half in, half out of her flight suit. Also, she's making little happy noises as she eats. It's chocolate, damn it.

The Commander is coming up the corridor, rounding it and heading their way. Seeing those ahead, along with the CAG's ice cream, he does a slight pause. His eyes then shift over toward Zephyr and the clipboard.

Rue pauses when she spots the Commander. No, not even chocolate induced haze can hide that presence. She blinks, reaches up to wipe off a dab of vanilla from her chin, then smiles. "Commander Regas, sir. Is the Destiny back?"

As the young Lieutenant's eyes rise from the clipboard, their focus is grabbed once again by the half-undressed CAG. It takes less than a second for the word "Commander" to reach his ears, and his full attention is blasted from Rue straight onto Regas. "Commander Regas, sir" Zephyr echoes Rue.

A nod goes to the CAG, "Yes, she came in early this morning. I've got engineering over there now," Regas replies and notices the wipe of vanilla from her chin. He also notices the flightsuit, "I was just coming to see how you were doing, before I fell into a pile of paperwork again." His dark gaze shifts to the young CIC officer as he goes into full attention, "LTJG Zephyr," those dark eyes remain there, "Were you needing to see me?" Why else would be be in this corridor? Certainly not eyeing the CAG's backside!

"I had papers for Major Rue sir. And I believe I'll be having papers for you sir, once I get them from CIC. Most likely on Destiny's return" Zephyr answers briskly. Ugh, he so hopes Regas or Rue didn't notice his straying gaze.

"Good to hear, sir," Rue says, smile still there and if possible, even more genuine. "I stretched my legs earlier," she adds, motioning towards her suit, reaching down to start pulling said suit back up. "I didn't have any problems. As long as the doctor puts me at 100 percent, I think I'm ready for combat duty." If Rue noticed anything untoward about Zephyr's gaze, she isn't voicing anything of the sort.

Regas uhhuhs low in his throat. If the Commander had noticed, he'd be wearing the clipboard in some oral area. "You do that, Zephyr. While you are at it, you can round up Lt. Bayless. Ensign Dike and Major Rue and I will meet with them." He glances to the CAG again, just setting her all up for a meeting. Isn't he nice?

Zephyr nods. "Aye sir, Understood. Shall I send them to your Quarters sir?" he asks, then looks at Rue too.

"I was just on my way to find them, sir," Rue reassures the Commander, even as she zippers up the top half of her suit in a feat of agility, what with her ice cream cup being balanced in one hand and then the other. Ziiiiiip. She licks a finger and wipes a vanilla droplet off the left breast of her suit.
"Just let me know when you have them in the bullpen," Regas replies in that 'dismissal' voice. His gaze returns toward Rue, "On top of things as usual, Major." She did not play..wipe..lick. It's a good thing he is highly professional. "Dismissed, Jig." He says toward Zephyr, but keeps watching the CAG.

Zephyr stands to attention and nods in a quick salute. "Aye Commander. Major Rue" he says, nodding to her once before making his way back to CIC.
