Commanders Quarters Support Station PAS - Deck 4
21 BCH 2085 Souls

The Commanders Quarters of the PAS station is a large area, decorated in a subdued style, carrying a sense of quiet antiquity. Shelves of secured textbooks line one of the walls, with titles ranging from quantum mechanics to ecological reference materials. On the walls are a few certificates of accomplishment the commander keeps on display. There is a table with chairs situated in an open area, as well as a few comfortable chairs about a low coffee table. Two locked cabinets are set into the wall that divide a portion of the room off into a sleeping area, complete with a standard wardrobe. One corner is dedicated to the working of the station, with a large wooden desk on which is a computer, wireless and jar of candies. Behind the chair at the desk is a locked file cabinet, while in front of the desk are two chairs where those who are here for 'business' are regularly seated. Things here are kept neat and tidy.

SHORTLY…

Ward Room Support Station PAS - Deck 4
21 BCH 2085 Souls

The ward room is a multi-purpose conference room used for everything from staff meetings to press conferences. The room boasts A large, faux wood table which curves around the center of the room. The chairs have large, comfortable cushions. Unlike most of the ship, the deck here is actually carpeted. The carpet is a deep blue shade, adding a splash of color to the otherwise drab gray of the ship. Along the walls are pictures, sealed in their frames, they are watercolors with small title plaques denoting them each as one of the Colony worlds.

Someone is knocking at the door.

Reed opens the Ward room door, "Lieutenant. The Colonel will be here in a few minutes, and has requested our presence."

Reighner is standing in front of the ward room door, still dressed for hospital work. "Who?"
Regas comes in from Passageway.
Regas has arrived.

Well, there's only one Colonel within at least two jumps of here, "Colonel Regas. He'll be here any time, wants to meet with you and I in the Ward Room." says Reed.

Reighner is dressed for the wards, white coat over his uniform with a stethescope slung around his neck, standing in front of the open door to the ward room. His back is to any approachers. "Colonel Regas? What does he do?"

Regas does indeed come walking up the corridor, with a large reddish envelope in his hand. "I sign pay checks and play golf," he answers within hearing distance now. "It's a hard job, but someone has to do it."

Reed looks to Reighner, "He's in command of the Genesis, and Security of the Project, Overseeing the operation and-" frak. Reed comes to attention, not exactly sure how formal this is, though it is short notice for a meeting, he salutes, "Sir."

It takes a moment for the neurons to fire. Reighner spins around — keeping a hand on his scope — and steps aside to clear a way through the ward room hatch. He glances at Reed, and since the captain's saluting, he offers one as well.

Regas hands off a salute to both, "As you were," he then veers into the Ward Room, since that was where he was heading in the first place. "Come in, gentleman."

Regas leaves for Ward Room [WR].
Regas has left.

Reed drops salute and with a glance to Reighner, he shrugs, following.

You head towards Ward Room.

Reighner comes in from Passageway.
Reighner has arrived.

Reed follows into the Ward Room, looking to Regas to take cues on what's going on, exactly. He's clueless.

"Why didn't you say anything," Reighner rasps as he follows Reed in. He clears his throat and stands next to the captain, folding his hands behind his back.

Regas drops the packet on the conference table and takes a good look at the watercolors, "I should get Leonis done for my office," he muses rather to himself and then turns around to see the two men. "I know this is a little short notice, but, something always happens if I put it to the side." He motions Reed over, "Captain, if you could step forward."

Reed doesn't figure he has the time to explain to Reighner, and he doesn't. He steps forward, taking a posture of at ease. The Colonel is relaxed enough, but red envelopes. Re envelopes make him nervous until he knows what's inside them. Hands clasped behind his back, he settles into his stance, eyes at a neutral point in the air five feet ahead of him.

Reighner keeps quiet, darting his eyes between the two.

Regas steps up and pulls a small box out of his pocket. "Oh and I also promote. Funny thing about that. Letting me promote people," he reaches over and begins removing the Captain pins from Reed's collar. "Overseeing this station and getting things done on time or before their time, has brought the heads up of upper Brass. This doesn't mean you are able to slack, no, I think you'll get piled on with more than you will want." He finishes adding the pins and then holds the others in his hand. "Congratulations, Major."

Reed blinks a couple of times. Twenty minutes ago he was in his office having JUST gotten the paperwork down to a pile that only came up to his shin. Now he's gotten new pips and can expect more paperwork on the incoming supply ship. He blinks again, then swallows, "Thank you, sir." He snaps back to attention, and gives a salute sharp enough to be used to split atoms. Somewhere under that salute, he's reeling.

Reighner eyes widen like a deer in the headlights. His head recedes a little into his thorax.

Regas hands off the pins to Reed now after returning the salute, "Here, promote the El-Tee there before he swallows his own adam's apple." A smile half touches his features now - "They were a little behind in getting that paperwork to me, Matt, sorry about the hangup," he tells Reighner.

Reed drops salute and takes his old pins from the Colonel. Okay, this, this he can do. Muahaha. "Aye sir." planting the toe of one foot, slowly Reed turns, step by step, inch by inch. well okay at an even walk, he moves to LT Reighner. Removing his insignia pins, he replaces them with his old ones. "Congratulations, Captain." He then holds the LT pips, steps back, and smiles, still with the somewhat formal air.

"I, uh, suppose I could forgive you." Reighner remarks to Regas, taken unawares. He shoots off a, "Sir," when he remembers to. After Reed applies the insignia, he nods a couple of times and mumbles a, "Thank you, sir." This time his salute is better.

Regas returns the salute as well and then sets his hip on the edge of the table now as he watches. "Congratulations, Captain Reighner. I've heard you are looking about the medical facility here. Is your scientist nose being replaced by antiseptic?"

Reed moves back, stepping to the side to look at Reighner with some interest, an idea forming that likely Regas is five steps ahead of him on.

"Not exactly, sir," Reighner answers, slowly recollecting his wits. "I'm trained as a medical scientist, so I've always seen patients along with my research back on Scorpia. I was looking to continue that pattern here." He takes a slow breath and seems to suppress a burp.

Regas nods, "I've heard of your work. I'm not too up on the medical jargon, since I seem to end up taking them apart instead of putting them back together," he waves a hand out idly, "This facility is going to do big things. The medical bay is going to need to be enlarged and I'd like you to get with the CMO on that. Your cancer research is important, so make sure you put in for the supplies you are going to need." He glances to Reed, "See that it's done, Major," he straightens then and picks up his packet.

Reed nods, "Aye sir." He looks to Reighner and nods before turning to Regas to see what the man might pull out next.

Reighner nods in understanding. Seems simple enough. "Aye aye, sir," he answers.

Regas doesn't pull out anything else, as he is now headed for the door, "Have a drink on me and for me in the Taproom. I've got to get back to the Genesis. A certain supply Officer has decided that tonight is the night she needs to get me in a corner." And with that, he steps out and disappears down the corridor.

Reed looks at the door after Regas leaves and looks to Reighner, "Didn't see that coming." He says, breathing out a breath, and scratching the back of his head.

"What was his name?" Reighner asks, eyebrows furrowed. "I, uh, don't seem to remember."

Reed smiles, "Colonel Tarik Regas. Commander of the Battlestar Genesis."

Reighner takes a deep breath and taps the chest piece of his stethoscope. "Well."

Reed nods, "Yeah. I guess you've got more area to work in. you need anything else besides the drug that's impossible to spell?" He's not an MD.

Reighner shakes his head in the negative. He puts his hands on his hips and juts out his tongue contemplatively. "Why would they need to expand the medical facility. That doesn't resolve with the point of this project." He glances from the hatch to Reed. "Are you telling me the whole story about this?"

Reed looks to Reighner, "No, of course not. There are more levels to the Classified Material, but there are some things that only the Colonel and I know, and I'm sure there are more things that the Colonel knows that I don't. But that's just the way Top Secret projects go. Compartmentalized information dispensation." He shrugs, "For example, I've got no idea why we need the Medical Facility expanded. But we're going to frakking well do it." He shrugs.

Reighner stays quiet for a moment, scratching his hair. Eventually he shakes his head. "Well, off I go, then." He starts walking for the hatch.

Reed nods, "I'll send in a team to get you more area. You should be able to get your own lab for this." He says after the Doctor.

"Taproom tonight?" Reighner asks, pausing at the hatch and looking back.

Reed sighs out, "Oh yeah, Taproom tonight. I'm not a Captain anymore. I'm.. acht I'm the only Major." He sighs.
