The medical facility is large enough to hold a few dozen beds. Each bed is set with a curtain for privacy, a chair near the bed and any monitoring or medical aids needed. A nurses desk sits at the front near the hatch and a surgery area, Medical Officers area and supplies are on the far wall behind the desk. Nurses, doctors and medics man this area at any time day or night. Visiting hours are usually kept to the day and evening schedules, unless stated otherwise by medical staff.

Eli is just entering the hatch…well Farkas's head enters first as Eli eases him into the sickbay as she enters herself, holding Farkas and shifting him around some with a hint of a strain on her features. Farkas is not small. "He tripped and hit a wall, I think he might have a cut on his head and a mild concussion and a broken nose…" She just starts talking.

Farkas is bleeding from a wound in the side of his head, and from both his nose and the side of his mouth. His eyes flutters, fighting to stay conscious. Just as he is carried into the sickbay, he manages to raise a hand to feebly take hold of Eli's clothing and murmurs something just loud enough for her to hear. "To…clear…name…better, this…way."

Zaharis is standing at the reception desk, his hand braced on the counter. Writing something on some chart, his eyes down. The commotion pulls his attention up and he blinks slowly. "Get a gurney," he calls to one of the nurses, who immediately grabs one and starts wheeling it over. The chart tossed down, he turns and heads over towards Farkas and Eli. "We got you, Sergeant. Gurney's coming right over." To Eli he raises an eyebrow. "A wall?" Yeah that's disbelief right there.

Eli is working on helping transfer Farkas to a gurney when it gets close enough and she narrows her eyes at Farkas at what she hears. "You are…one stupid motherfrakker, sergeant, no disrespect intended." Then she/he looks to Zaharis and then nods. "Yes sir. A wall. I personally believe I may have broken his nose and caused the bleeding from his mouth, but he hit a wall." She shakes her head. "Also, if we had a psych ward, I'd suggest he be put there as well, but we don't."

Farkas still struggles to remain conscious as he is placed on the gurney. Eyes flutter and his fingers twitch now and then. But for the moment he is silent, since he barely can talk anyhow. Before his eyes he sees a world way beyond that of the others in the room. A world where he made a slight change of his career thirty years prior.

"We don't committ people for running into walls, Sheriff," Zaharis replies rather pointedly as Farkas is sat down. He looks over at the nurse. "Take him for a head CT and an X-ray. Get the lacerations cleaned up." His eyes go back to Eli, levelly. "Not telling the truth about how he got his injuries could lead us astray in treating him. So I suggest if there's something else you should be telling me, that you tell me."

Shem has arrived.

Eli eyes Farkas with a hint of concern. Then he turns back to Zaharis and nods firmly, eyeing her bruising knuckles for a few moments before folding her hands behind her back. "I'm telling the truth, sir. I punched him in the face and then somehow he hit the wall behind…somewhat to the side of him, so I'm going to assume he tripped and hit the wall." She's talking to Zaharis as Farkas is on a gurney possibly being wheeled off to be treated. He's got a bloody face and head and Eli has bruised knuckles. "Oh! Yes. And then he fell to the floor. But I don't know if that did any damage or not." She's being thorough.

Farkas is laying on the gurney, with an aid tending to the wound on the side of his head. At this point the blood flow from his nose has dried up, but some still seep from the corner of his mouth down upon the pillow. Now and then his eyes flutters, trying to open but fails.

Shem storms in, trailing hellfire. His nostrils are flared and his cheeks are rosy. He has a small box tightly clutched in his hand. The S2 makes a beeline for the front desk.

Zaharis has just given some instructions to a nurse and medic, who start to wheel Farkas off for his scans and cleanup. He's standing with Eli, watching her as he listens to her explanation. The sudden appearance of 'punching' in her description makes one dark brow raise sharply. "I see. I'm going to have to file a medical report, Sheriff, you know that. So I'm going to need you to start at the beginning, here, and tell me -exactly- what happened if you've left out any other details."

At reception, the nurse looks up as the S2 barrels over. "Help you, El-Tee?"

Eli pinches the bridge of her nose for a moment, hand resting on her hip for a moment. Then she just looks back to Zaharis. "I apologize sir for giving you more paperwork. However as an MP it is my duty and responsibility to assist, protect and defend my fellow soldiers, their families, and the basic ideals of our that guarantee our freedom and our way of life. I live by this creed, I act by this creed and when there is a security threat to be handled, sir. And as the MaA I have no choice but to act in a matter to remove that threat from the ship on which I serve. I cannot arrest him unless I have the proof necessary to charge him with something. But I wanted to make sure he was in a place where he could receive care and be secured before I went to look into this inquiry." A pause. "The punch, however, was to handle the threat. The wall got in the way, for that I do apologize sir."

…oh and if she notices Shem? The only sign is her back straightening even more.

"Yes," Shem answers, flashing a very trying smile. His lips seem to quiver of their own accord. "I have a feeling I'll find one of my marines here." He feels the weight of the box and sticks it in one of his pockets.

Zaharis looks at her blandly as she goes on and on about her creed. At the end he replies, quite calmly, "You gave me a story about a wall. Then you changed it to a punch that made him hit a wall. Now you've changed it to a punch that made him hit a wall because you want us to hold him rather than the MPs detaining him. For…something that I'm not even sure of. Now I suggest, /very/ seriously, that you decide what in Hades you're telling me, and tell it without the bullshit. We can go into my office if you like."

…and Shem may want to join that party. The nurse nods politely to the S2. "Yes, sir, there are a few." Some still laid up from the PAS and Persius. "May I ask which Marine, sir?"

Eli blinks several times, flicker of confusion on her face. "…I brought him to sick bay because he hit his head on a wall sir, prior to hitting the wall I had punched him in the face…sir. No bullshit intended sir."

"You tell me," Shem replies. There's a subtle change in his expression, but that facsimile of a smile remains. "Any come in here within the last hour?"

Zaharis looks at Eli. For a while. "And you did so because…you say he's a threat. Sheriff, you understand that unless he's suffered an injury that mandates his staying here, I'm not going to hold him past his outpatient treatment without reason. He'll be released within a few hours. So perhaps we need your command or someone down here to assess this."

The nurse is looking uncomfortable at that smile. "Uh…yes, sir. Sergeant Farkas was just admitted a minute ago." She points her pen over towards Zaharis and Eli. "Sheriff's over there, she brought the Sergeant in."

Eli nods firmly. "Yes sir. And I understand that sir, but it would be neglectful and irresponsible for me to just leave him on the floor bleeding. I can leave an MP here to stand guard and be at the ready if need be, sir, to make sure he doesn't cause any unfortunate trouble during his treatment and care." She glances towards where Shem is before looking back to Zaharis.

Shem requires a couple of seconds for that piece of information to sink in. He puts his hand flat on the desk. "Thank you, you were very helpful." He turns and approaches the now-recognized pair, carefully pulling his expression into neutrality, but there's no mistaking displeasure based on his posture. There's a sweat stain in the shape of Shem's palm left on the nurse's desk.

Oh look, it's Eli's command. How handy. Zaharis turns his head as Shem approaches, nodding. "Lieutenant. I believe we could use your help over here." The nurse at reception is trying her best not to look nosy, but yeah she's trying to rubberneck. As are a few other people around, being sneaky about it. The CMO adds calmly, "And I strongly suggest if this conversation is going any further that it do so privately." He nods both towards his office.

Eli turns to nod firmly to Shem in greeting, lowering her eyes for a moment before clearing her throat and nod quickly. Preparing to follow where need be. She's just the messenger. - And the hammer.

Shem salutes quickly. "Sergeant," he says sweetly to Eli. "How nice to see you." He nods to Zaharis. "Lead the way, sir."

Zaharis braces himself for this fun. He heads for his office, taking his keycard from his belt.
You head towards Chief Medical Officers Office.

Chief Medical Officers Office Genesis - Deck 13
38 ACH 6285 Souls

The office of the Chief Medical Officer is a small room, used mostly for consultations and review of sensitive patient materials than the paperwork of the Medical department, which goes through the Naval Administrative offices. Still somehow it has file cabinets along one wall stuffed full of papers, two chairs in front of a desk behind which a large leather chair is set. On the desk sits a computer terminal.
Sitting on the file cabinet is a Rod of Asclepius carved from two different types of wood. The rod is made from lighter wood, while the snake is darker. The eye of the snake is inlayed with tiny crystals so that it sparkles in the light. It stands on a smallish pedestal with a legend: Do no harm to thyself nor to others.
----< Condition Three - Duty Area >----—-

Eli comes in from Sickbay.
Eli has arrived.

Shem comes in from Sickbay.
Shem has arrived.

Eli is quiet as she follows, hands folding behind her back as usual, posture straight. And she stays quiet.

Zaharis gestures for both to have a seat, there being two chairs on the other side of his desk. He sits down, himself, folding his hands on the desk. Boy, this is fun. "Lieutenant," he says to Shem. "Sheriff Browne brought Sergeant Farkas down to Sickbay a few minutes ago. She tells me that she punched him and he fell against a wall. As far as I can discern, she did so because she felt she was handling a threat. Now I don't like concerning myself with Marine matters, but since the Sergeant has ended up in Sickbay, we have to take certain responsibilities for both Farkas and the staff handling him. So I would appreciate if the Sheriff would lay out what she needs to so that both of us can hear and come to a concensus on what to do about the situation."

This ought to be interesting. Shem stiffly sits and turns his head to Eli.

Eli takes a deep breath. "The sergeant exited the offices and asked me to arrest him for the rape of a female officer. Then further elaborate that he enjoyed her suffering. Seeing as…he also said he just confessed this AND he walked out of the offices on his own? I have reason to believe either he was bullshitting me and whoever he confessed to or he is insane. It may have been a lapse of judgment on my part, for which I take full responsibility, to use my fist instead of my nightstick, but I had to make a split second decision." She sighs. "During our journey here, he…has pretty much confirmed both it was probably a lie he told and his reasonings behind it are…deranged so, sirs, I do beg your forgiveness…" She trails off. "I brought him to sickbay because I wanted his wounds tended to. He may be insane, but as of now he is still a marine."

The tension at the corners of Zaharis' eyes might indicate a severe headache coming on. For the moment he doesn't comment, letting Shem go first.

Shem, perhaps surprisingly, doesn't say anything to Eli. He swivels his head to Zaharis and asks, without delay, "Sir, I'd like a shrink to take a look at Sergeant Farkas before he gets out of sickbay."

Eli bows her head, still standing pretty much just 1 step down from 'at attention'.

Zaharis turns a pen around his fingers. Very slowly. He nods to Shem. "We'll have him assessed." By who, exactly, boy that'll be fun to figure out. "However, Lieutenant, Sickbay is not a holding cell for people the MPs believe to be a threat. My staff isn't trained to act in that capacity, and the Sergeant's injuries aren't likely to have him down for more than a few hours unless the Sheriff managed to do internal damage. I would like either security support on him in a private room or for you to have him put somewhere secure, yourself. Preferably the latter."

Shem runs a finger along the underside of his left eyebrow. "We can't hold him without a charge, sir, and I'd rather not go down that path." He takes a deep, hopefully calming breath, and runs the hand down to roughly rub his cheek for a moment. "If you can keep him until your people get a look at him? I'm certain we can spare a guard. If your guys think he's fine, sir, that'll be the end of that."

Eli nods firmly from where she is. "Sirs? As I said initially. If it was approved, I'd leave one or two MPs here to stand watch until he is released. As it is, I believe he is still supposed to be confined to marine country unless he's on duty." Then she shuts her mouth.

Zaharis exhales slowly through his nose. "If you'd have any relevant information on his behaviour released to me, then. Whoever does his assessment will need to be aware." He looks at Eli, then nods to both. "If there is a risk of him behaving violently then yes. Give us an MP. We'll move him to one of the private rooms for his assessment."

"Yes, sir," Shem acknowledges. "I'll have a summary sent." When Eli speaks, he shoots a look to her that amounts to something like 'shut the frak up.'

Eli blinks at the look and doesn't say anything else, standing there and bowing her head once more.

Zaharis ignores the looks going back and forth. "Information and an MP. You'll have your assessment as soon as Farkas is competent to sit for it."

Shem's nostrils flare briefly, but he covers it up with a nod. "Aye, sir. Thank you, sir."

If Zaharis notices the nostril-flaring, again he ignores it. "If there is nothing more to add then you're both dismissed. I will be touch shortly, Lieutenant."

Eli nods firmly, snapping off a salute and turning to head off and out.

Eli leaves for Sickbay [o].
Eli has left.

Shem stands without delay. He salutes again and turns back for the exit.
Shem leaves for Sickbay [o].
