The medical facility is large enough to hold a few dozen beds. Each bed is set with a curtain for privacy, a chair near the bed and any monitoring or medical aids needed. A nurses desk sits at the front near the hatch and a surgery area, Medical Officers area and supplies are on the far wall behind the desk. Nurses, doctors and medics man this area at any time day or night. Visiting hours are usually kept to the day and evening schedules, unless stated otherwise by medical staff.

The office of the Chief Medical Officer is a small room, used mostly for consultations and review of sensitive patient materials than the paperwork of the Medical department, which goes through the Naval Administrative offices. Still somehow it has file cabinets along one wall stuffed full of papers, two chairs in front of a desk behind which a large leather chair is set. On the desk sits a computer terminal.

There's a crisp knock on Zaharis' office door.

Zaharis' office has been impeccably straightened and cleaned. Even though there's a lot of sheer stuff in here, with files and papers and everything else, it all seems to have been stacked by a compulsive hand, possibly alphabetically. The patient films up on the wall are in straight rows. Even the three mugs he keeps around for visitors are lined up on the top of the filing cabinet, all the handles facing the same way. The CMO's working on something on the computer, one heavy medical textbook open on his desk. "Come in."

Eve doesn't really come in, she more of pops her head in, lingering in the doorway with it still half closed. "Heya…chief? You know that thing where you told me to tell you if I felt uncomfortable about being asked to counsel someone because of a personal relationship?" Its as if she's trying to rush through it.

The keys continue to clack softly, even as Zaharis looks away from the screen. Then his hands pause. "Mmhmm."

"Yeeeeah, well. Saint Germain falls into that categorey." There. That was easy. Evelyn even looks relieved. "Gunny D'Artanion had some issue she wanted me to look into. I think she's coming to see you as soon as she has the chance."

Zaharis stares at her. Not a glare, more confused. "Those two halves of what you just said. They're related?"

Eve tilts her head slightly, as if trying to think back on what she just blurted out, "I believe so? She asked me to talk to him about some issue. Before she gave me any details, I told her it would have to be brought to you. Think she had to talk to you about it anyways. So. Shit. Did I frak up again?" She asks, only now stepping into the room fully. And then something strikes her as odd: the sheer cleanliness of it has her blinking. "Everything alright, sir?"

"Yes, fine." Zaharis raises an eyebrow at her, then continues. "Frak up? No." He glances back at the screen, finishing what he was typing with a quick flurry of keytaps. Then he looks back at her. "You did what I asked you to do. We'll handle it."

"Okay good.." Evelyn says, her voice distant and distracted as she looks around the room. Everything is suddenly taken in, tuning her mind to the sheer fact this office probably never looked this clean. Even when the ship was fresh off the line. Her gaze finally centers back onto the CMO himself, standing near the filing cabinet. Idly her finger starts to toy with one of the mugs, turning it just slightly. A test? "Good to see Major Carter has pulled through."

"Definitely." Zaharis' finger taps the desk a few times, a tiny, rapid motion. He spares a glance at the mug as she turns it. "Was there anything else, Lieutenant?"

Eve plasters a smile on her features. "No, sir. I'm sorry. You're quite busy, I can see that." She glances around, "You've been so busy, its a wonder you're getting any sleep." Though the last sentence sounds suspiciously like a question.

"Yeah," Zaharis replies, his finger still tapping. "I'm kind of busy right now." That sentence sounds suspiciously like a hint.

Eve takes it. Begrudgingly. There's only so far she can push, especially when it comes to a superior officer. "Yes of course. Well. You know where I'll be if you need me."

"Dismissed, Lieutenant." That's the only response that gets. It's not rude, just distracted, and Zaharis' attention goes back to his work.

Eve nods respectfully and slips out.

Thad comes in from Recovery Ward.
Thad has arrived.

Evelyn is lingering around in Sickbay, not really doing much of anything but likely getting in the way. Its not really her nature to be Evelyn the road hazzard, but here she is. At the moment she's futzing with a chart, flipping through the papers clipped inside.

Thad comes out of the recovery ward and angles toward the charts himself. "Pardon." he says as he nears. "I need to make a couple of notes." he tells her as he meets the rather unusual traffic hazard. "Everything alright?" he adds in a softer tone, since it is unusual for her to be in the way.

Eve glances up with a distracted sort of 'Hmm?' as she lifts her gaze to Thad. "Oh. Yes, I suppose so. Just…something stuck in my head I can't seem to get sorted out. How are things with you, Captain?" She flips the chart closed, "Sorry did you need this one?"

Thad nods. "Well, if you need someone to talk to, I'm not hard to find." he offers before gesturing past her. "That one actually. Patient was having a reaction to one of the antibiotics and so we've made a change and I needed to note it was helping."

Eve ohs quietly, twisting to retrieve it for him. The chart is slid out, and offered to the doctor. "Its always so much more pleasant to be making those sorts of notes in someone's chart. Turns for the better, I mean." She manages a smile. "Say, doctor…are you…I mean have you dealt with many coma patients or…?"

Thad gives a small shake of his head. "Not really. Before coming here, I hardly did anything but surgery. Long term care went to the doctors. I've been having to relearn a lot of things I haven't used in a long time." he admits as he writes his notes quickly, then waits for her to supply more. At the moment, Thad and Eve are standing near the charts, talking and each one has a file in hand.

While, yes, Jocasta is wearing her uniform blues, she is considered technically out of uniform because the shirt's unfastened at the collar with the cross panel hung open across her chest. She must have just gotten off duty and felt inclined to stop in to Sickbay because… um, hm. Good question. She doesn't appear to be sick. Then again, she's making her way toward the recovery ward without so much as a hiccup in her gait so, maybe she's here to play visitor. That must be it.

Eve skews her lips slightly to the side as she looks down to the chart in her fingers. "Hmm." Is repeated again, obviously not finding the solace she was searching for in his answer. "I know what you mean about relearning skills." She replaces the chart she was perusing, "When we hit condition one, I'm.." Her gaze drifts off as she watches Jocasta breeze through, "…relegated to nurse duty."

Craven comes in from Recovery Ward.
Craven has arrived.

Thad and Eve are talking near the charts. Jocasta has just come in and seems to be headed for the recovery ward. All in all, it's a common scene in a lot of ways. "Not such a bad thing." he tells Eve. "If I wasn't usually needed in surgery, I'd probably be in the same boat. I've yet to be needed for less than major incidents in those conditions." he points out. "You'll get there. I don't doubt it in the least. If you want, maybe we can work out some time to get you a bit of practice and help us both remember things." he offers.

Craven comes out of one of the changing rooms, having stowed his uniform in his locker and changed into his off duty garb. Moving into sickbay proper, he lifts a hand and runs it quickly through his hair before angling his direction over towards the exit out of the 'bay. There's the odd nod here and there, to anyone who happens to be looking in his direction.

Eve's smile warms a few degrees on her features. "That would be lovely, sir, thank you. I could certainly use it. As long as…" She clears her throat, even as she visibly pales, "..long as there isn't blood involved. I don't do too well with that."

Thad lifts a hand to wave to Craven and then focuses fully on Eve. "Note to self: Don't ask for Doctor Sloan to assist in surgery. Got it." he says in an almost playful tone before holding the chart his has toward her. "Set that back for me?" he asks then.

Craven leaves for Corridor 13B [O].
Craven has left.

Eve takes it from him, even though she's not assigned to sickbay today. But a little kindness goes a long way, and she has no qualm about replacing the chart. "Oh, I can assist. As long as I can do it with my eyes closed."

Thad can't help but chuckle softly. "I think I know why you're a nurse at Condition One." he says then. "I'd hate to try and run triage with my eyes closed." And with the injuries that come in in those conditions… yeah. "I wouldn't feel back about it. Not everyone is cut out for that part of the job. It happens."

Eve finds her own lilting laughter, spurred by his chuckle. "Well, there is a reason why the tinkering of the brain I chose doesn't involve needing a scalpel." She raises a hand to her forehead then, rubbing along the line of her brow, as if suddenly overcome with a headache.

Thad smiles a little more at her laughter and relaxes just a touch. "To each his own. I was actually planning to develop toward the tinkering that does need one as a speciality when I got transferred to the ship." he admits. He was among the last people brought onboard to. Lucky guy in a lot of ways.

Eve pinches one eye closed as she looks to Thad. "Yeah? Then maybe you can fix these headaches I've been having. My own fault really, I should use my glasses more. Will you excuse me, Captain? My shifts been over for sometime, and I think its about time I get some rest."

Thad nods his head and steps back a little. "Of course, Doctor Sloan. Rest well." Then he adds "And if you keep having the headaches, let me know. I'll be glad to see if maybe there is something that can be done for them. Never know." he offers.

Eve gives a half a smile and a little nod to Thad. "Good night, sir." She says quietly before edging around him and towards the exit.

You head towards Corridor 13B.
