Biographical Information

Brief

Jonah Quill hails from Virgon, where his uneventful life in the company of his parents and older sister eventually led him to Tate University in the planet's capital city. Finding academia a comfortable alternative to the real world, he decided that the best thing to do after school would be to continue attending school. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering became a master's, and shortly before Various Circumstances placed him reluctantly aboard the Carina, the master's degree had been surpassed by a PhD. In his pre-cylon-holocaust life, Quill taught at Tate Uni, worked part time as a mechanic, and incurred a tremendous amount of student loan debt.

After the cylon holocaust, Quill became one of the first civilians to accept an offer of Navy enlistment, and is currently attempting to make himself useful aboard the Genesis.

Relationships

Major Rhea Zimmerman: The first military soul Quill met. She recruited him off the Carina, and is thus responsible for his presence aboard Genesis. Quill respects Major Zimmerman immensely, would follow her leadership over the River Styx and back, and privately worries that too much paperwork is taking her away from proper snipe work.

Major Reed Carter: Everyone whom Quill considered inspiring or a role model, from his mentor on Virgon to the names published in engineering journals, is gone. He has subconsciously filled that gap with Reed, whom he respects and, y'know, envies a bit. Reed also has a tendency to tell Quill things that shift his paradigms, skew his understanding of the universe, and melt his brain.

PO2 Mopsus Doe del Boccyo: Snatch took Quill under her wing and showed him how to be a fine upstanding snipe in the Colonial Navy, and her know-how and patience during those Recruit days have earned her Quill's eternal gratitude and respect. He is fascinated by her heritage, despite being occasionally worried about how it meshes with more generic Colonial social norms, and considers her a reliable friend.

SCPO Darius Sagona has a grudge against the world. Quill believes this is a carefully cultivated demeanor rather than a true reflection of the man's personality, and sees Sagona as a wealth of military-engineering know-how waiting to be consulted. When this NCO talks, he listens.

Lieutenant JG Baylee Novella: I think this pretty much sums it up. We were talking about memoirs:
Novella pages: Ill kill Novella so he can write to her. ;)
You paged Novella with 'What if I kill him /first/!'
From afar, Novella will totally romeo and juliet these bitches.
