His paternal grandfather is Gerald "Ironbelly" Scipio, a former officer in the Colonial Marine Corps. Jason's father, Edmund Anthony Scipio was the head of the Homicide Squad of the Delphi Police Department for many years, while his mother Diana worked as an assistant for a dentist. He has a two years older sister, Matilda, a psychiatrist, and one year younger twin brothers. Roman is a journalist, while Pierce is a Lieutenant Junior Grade and Raptor pilot aboard the Battlestar Atlantia. Some might also have heard that he has a daughter, Alexandra, with former girlfriend Marianne Somerby. All of them are believed to have perished in the attacks on the Colonies.
